Before and After: Home Office

Since I am new to the Blogging world and I work from home as a Market Director, I needed some sort of space to do my work or even maybe a little corner of a room. And, that’s what I did. I always had a desk and a small spot for decor but I needed it to be functional.

I always wanted a cute space to work, pay bills and sit and explore on the computer… I just added a few decor things and organized files, and put everything where they needed to go. I am super happy with what I accomplished and you can definitely make something 10 times better with just adding color and decor.

I “Confess” I got most of my office decor from the dollar store or the dollar section and target

Pureed Diet

Before I knew it I had only 2 weeks to get Skinny for my trip to Hawaii. Well, I started on a pureed diet and what do you know— it actually works. I lost 7 lbs in a week…

All I do is buy fresh peas, squash, green beans, corn and spinach — I would cook them with sautĂ©ed onions, garlic, salt and pepper and then after just blend it all up to make it look like baby food. I also bought bake/roast chicken and then blend it all up… the food looks terrible but it actually taste good. Again, this pureed diet worked for me and it may not work for you. To me it was just a fast weight loss diet that I needed to do before my trip.

I “Confess” I might want to continue eating like this for a while even after my trip

Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, creamed Corn and Chicken

Easy Fruit Tart

I usually make this easy dessert for family parties, small get togethers and when I have my little mommy group lunches at my house. These are super easy to make and it’s so refreshing and delicious.

  • Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • Fillo Dough Cups
  • Fresh Fruit ( I like to use blueberries and raspberries )

  • Make your Vanilla Pudding Mix and set aside or back in the fridge
  • Bake / Toast your Fillo dough cups in the oven and wash your fruits
  • Add the Vanilla Pudding into the Fillo Dough Cups and top it off with your fresh fruit

I “Confess” that it will probably take you less then 20 mins to make these fruit tarts

DIY: Crayon Letter

I made this as a gift to my niece–At the time she was the head Pre School teacher and I wanted to make her something that she can put up in her office and make it be a conversational piece. I got the idea again from Pinterest but, of course I put my own twist to it.

I thought of doing this piece with crayons because PreSchoolers use a lot of crayons and made the letter into a “K” cause my niece’s name is Keanna and all her students called her Ms. Keanna… This project was so fun and you can definitely play with it and make it to your own style, make any letter, change up the crayon colors, and change the framing…

I “Confess” I bought all the supplies at the Dollar Store

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

I bought this lip pencil randomly… I walked into Sephora and just swatched the color on the back of my hand and I fell in love. I ran to the line and checked out asap. So, the next day I finally used it with a full face of make up and put a little gloss on my lips, used the velvet matte lip pencil … smooth as butter! The color is so bold that I didn’t even use a lip liner.

What it is:
A combination lipstick and lip pencil.

What it does:
Combining the convenience of a pencil with the application of a lipstick in a jumbo-sized crayon design, these pigment-rich sticks provide a matte, creamy finish that will not dry the lips. Enriched with emollients, vitamin E, and silicone, each gorgeous shade glides on and stays put. (

I got my Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the color, Never say Never.

I “Confess” that I might need to buy more colors…

Finding the perfect PreSchool

As you know my little– not so little daughter just turned 2 and my Husband and I are looking into PreSchools. When I had a baby I wish someone would have told me how hard it is to find a PreSchool, there are a lot of things you have to think about, good school, good referral, safety, tuition, and location. I am a stay- at -home mom and I do work part-time as a marketing director which, I do work from home.

We live in El Sobrante, Ca and the company that my Husband and I work for is located in San Francisco, Ca–(30 drive time). So, as for locations of schools we have to look in both cities and weight the different options, if I continue to work from home, I would find a school here- very close to home or If I wanted to work in the office, my Daughter would go to school in the city by our jobs.

We have looked at a few PreSchools in San Francisco and all of them are on a 2 year waiting list and some are apart of a pool. Which means, that you will be hand picked if you qualify… So you don’t even know if you are even going to get in. We also are looking into Catholic PreSchools which are so much money but the curriculum is amazing, I also went to a Catholic PreSchool. I have been introduced into Co-Op PreSchools where parents would have to go in and work at the school, which is kinda cool cause you can be involved with the school and see what’s going in a day to day life at PreSchool where your child attends.

I did go to school for, Early Childhood Education and I know the different teachings, the difference between, Childcare centers, in- home child care, PreSchools… etc. My #1 thing about looking for a PreSchool is SAFETY. My ideal PreSchool, I would want video cameras, high fenced play area, you would never know there was a school right there, not on a busy street, high profile background checks on teachers…  guess I am just being a crazy mom!

The search goes on for my ideal PreSchool…

Cupcake Top Cookies

I really didn’t know what to name these cookies, But I gave some to a dear friend she told me that it reminded her of cupcake tops… from the taste, texture and shape… So… that’s what I call them 🙂

Super NOT healthy dessert, but… fun, tasty and cute.

  • 1 Box of Cake Mix (any flavor–I used Funfetti)
  • 1 Stick of Butter (Melted)
  • 8oz Cream Cheese (Room Temp)
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg

  • In a mixing bowl add, cake mix, butter, cream cheese , vanilla extract, egg, mix all together and make sure there aren’t any lumps. Set in fridge for 2 hours
  • Oven at 250. Take a baking pan, line it with parchment paper.
  • Roll the cookie mixture into a small or medium size ball and flatten them, set on baking pan 2 inches from each other put in oven for about 8-10 mins, cookie should be chewy and not hard

Ballerina Birthday Invitations

I made these invitations for my daughter’s first birthday and her theme was, Ballerina!

So, you can only imagine a lot of tutus, pink, purple and tulle everywhere… that’s exactly what her decor was at her birthday. I saw this idea in Pinterest but of course I had to put my own little touches to the invitations. It definitely took me a long time to get these done, they were each hand-made, 80 invites total, and looking for the right paper and color was tough for me.

I apologize that I do not have every single measurements for ever piece of the invitation… But, the invitations do fit in a 4″x 6″ envelope.

You can totally be creative with this idea and play with it, use different paper, colors and any different ideas for tulle. I am totally an old fashion, get your birthday invitation and thank you cards in the mail kind of gal. I hope you love this idea and create your own ballerina invites and don’t forget to share your ideas with me!
