Before and After: Home Office

Since I am new to the Blogging world and I work from home as a Market Director, I needed some sort of space to do my work or even maybe a little corner of a room. And, that’s what I did. I always had a desk and a small spot for decor but I needed it to be functional.

I always wanted a cute space to work, pay bills and sit and explore on the computer… I just added a few decor things and organized files, and put everything where they needed to go. I am super happy with what I accomplished and you can definitely make something 10 times better with just adding color and decor.

I “Confess” I got most of my office decor from the dollar store or the dollar section and target

DIY: Crayon Letter

I made this as a gift to my niece–At the time she was the head Pre School teacher and I wanted to make her something that she can put up in her office and make it be a conversational piece. I got the idea again from Pinterest but, of course I put my own twist to it.

I thought of doing this piece with crayons because PreSchoolers use a lot of crayons and made the letter into a “K” cause my niece’s name is Keanna and all her students called her Ms. Keanna… This project was so fun and you can definitely play with it and make it to your own style, make any letter, change up the crayon colors, and change the framing…

I “Confess” I bought all the supplies at the Dollar Store

Ballerina Birthday Invitations

I made these invitations for my daughter’s first birthday and her theme was, Ballerina!

So, you can only imagine a lot of tutus, pink, purple and tulle everywhere… that’s exactly what her decor was at her birthday. I saw this idea in Pinterest but of course I had to put my own little touches to the invitations. It definitely took me a long time to get these done, they were each hand-made, 80 invites total, and looking for the right paper and color was tough for me.

I apologize that I do not have every single measurements for ever piece of the invitation… But, the invitations do fit in a 4″x 6″ envelope.

You can totally be creative with this idea and play with it, use different paper, colors and any different ideas for tulle. I am totally an old fashion, get your birthday invitation and thank you cards in the mail kind of gal. I hope you love this idea and create your own ballerina invites and don’t forget to share your ideas with me!

Guest Bathroom: Before and After

Well, this was on my to- do list of things I want to get done … Re-decorate my guest bathroom. I rent a Townhome so there really isn’t much I can do except re decorate or paint. And, re- painting is out of the question because I would have to re-do it before I move out. I have been living here for a good 5 years and I know … I am finally re decorating. It’s my guest bathroom so I wasn’t showing it enough love like I should.

I really didn’t add much to it but it sure it make it look and feel better. Even with just a pop of color!

I “Confess” that there are so many things I would love to do to this bathroom: paint, change lighting, add different boarders…etc.

Closet Space

I absolutely love my walk- in closet and I don’t think I would ever move into a place that didn’t have one. My closet was such a Hott-mess! Oh so bad!… I colored code my clothes, all my sweats and Pj’s, I just fold and through them up to the shelves, then my shoes I just put in tupperware and stack them on each other. For a while I thought that was super organized… But, between picking something to wear, what shoes go with what, and laundry–I just put clothes and shoes where ever they seemed to fit. And, my Husband would get so annoyed cause he wouldn’t have any room for his stuff and my things were every where and any where. It was just really had to keep all my clothes and shoes organized.

So, finally today I cleared my schedule and totally re-organized my closet. When you look at the before and after pictures, I added the brown and tan boxes and added my jewelry stand. The Boxes, I got on sale at Kmart for like $4 each and they are heaven sent. Those boxes made my clothes much more organized, has a cleaner look and easy to get to. I added my Jewelry stand because my toddler daughter looooves to play with all of it and just makes a mess. I decided to hide my jewelry in the closet and put it high up. My shoes are still in tupperware and are down low on the floor, I don’t know why I ever thought it was a good idea to put them up high cause every time I needed a shoe, it was really hard to get and the Tupperware would always fall on me.

I “Confess” that organizing my closet took me 4 hours

Reusable Shopping Bags

I attended a bridal shower this past weekend for my childhood friend, Andrea. I normally just buy a Victoria Secret’s Gift card and be done. But, this time I knew I wanted to give her something that she could use all the time and something for her and her husband to -be. I decided to give her, reusuable shopping bags, the county that we live in now bans, plastic bags and we now have to purchase paper bags for $.10 if we really needed one.

I want to give a special thank you to, Print’em All (El Sobrante) !— Print’em All is a printing and design company right down the street from my house and they do such an amazing job! They can print or design anything to shirts, posters, business cards, signs … etc. They did such a great job printing and helping me design the reusable shopping bags and the turn around time was fast! I went in there on Monday afternoon and I was ready to pick up by Friday morning. I think the best part about the whole process when printing and designing with them was that, they send you the actual product and the design through e-mail so you can see everything is the exact way you want it before pick up. Thank you so much and I will definitely use this company again!

Dollar Store: Potpourri Holder

I absolutely love going to the dollar store and finding random things that I can use or finding something to make out of it. I found a bag full for potpourri, small glass vases, hay rope and a couple of small candles. I actually bought all these things for other projects and I didn’t think to use them all in one project… But, I DID!!!

What you will need:

  • Potpourri
  • And size glass container
  • Hay Rope, Twine , or any colored ribbon
  • and or candle

  • Pour the potpourri in the glass container to the top or leave it half way and add room for a candle
  • Tie rope, twine or ribbon around the glass container to give it more color or decor

I have to “Confess” that this whole project cost me less then $4

DIY wood lettering in a Shadow box

I made this for my cousins, Sheila and Brian for Valentine’s Day. And, my other cousins, Jennifer and Rob as a wedding present.

I knew Jennifer’s style was modern and chic. I also wanted a present that came from the heart and also crafty. I knew I wanted to make something about love, their names just something very meaningful.

When you get married, one person’s love and another person’s love become one whole new love. I decided to have Jennifer’s name intersect Rob’s name and I ended it with a heart because… Duhhhh?!? They love each other!

What you need:

  • Wood lettering (scrabble letters, I found mine at Michael’s)
  • A Shadow Box
  • Crafts glue
  • Any color paper for the background of the fame
  • Any color paper to make a heart

  • Spell out the names of the people you want to gift this to. Take your piece of back ground paper and start placing the wooden letters on with glue. You can make the names intersect anyway or if the names don’t intersect each other like (Joe and Tish) go ahead and place the heart for a space to make it look like they intersect.
  • To make the heart: The pack of wooden letters always comes with a few blanks. I took red construction paper and cut out a tiny heart and glued it on the blank wooden piece.

I have to “Confess” that every time I make this shadow box … I can’t help but think how important true love really is

Diaper Sushi Rolls

I swear to you… people can make cakes, cupcakes, wagons, cars and SUSHI out of diapers. Who makes this stuff up?

I helped a friend make this for a baby shower she was attending and I thought it was a super cute/ creative idea and so different from the traditional diaper cake. This craft project was easy and fun.

What you will need:

  • 11-12 newborn diapers
  • Felt Sheets (Green=Cumber) (Pink=Salmon) (Red=Shrimp)
  • Black or Dark Green Ribbon (2inch-3inch) (Used for the seaweed)
  • Chopticks
  • Black rubber bands/ rubber hair ties
  • Black duct tape
  • Plate, Bento Box or a simple container
  • Rubber/ Finding Nemo/ Stuffed Toy Fish (usually hard to find… there was 4 at Toys R Us and I bought them all)

  • Sushi Roll: Roll the newborn diaper tightly and wrap it with the black rubber band/ hair tie. Then take your ribbon and wrap the diaper to make it look like the seaweed, take your duct tape and secure the ends on the ribbon. Then, take your felt and stuff the middle of the diaper, you can mix and place the colored felt all sorts of different ways
  • Nigiri Sushi Roll: Stack about 5-6 diapers depending on how big your toy fish is. After you have stacked your diapers, place the toy fish on top and tightly wrap the ribbon, then secure the ends of the ribbon with duct tape
  • Arrange your sushi rolls on a plate/bento box and add your chopsticks right on top
  • If you have extra green felt, you can use as wasabi and extra pink felt for ginger

I “Confess” that my next friend (s) who has a baby shower… you will be getting Diaper Sushi Rolls

Decor: My HUGE Plain wall

In my townhome, I have this really huge plain wall that is between the living room and the dining room. I couldn’t just put one big framed picture because it would off set my flat screen tv (2 big rectangler objects ). I decided to get crafty…

I got my frames from the Dollar Store and repainted them to get a more vintage/ modern look. The little and big square shelves were a set I got from my wedding, I am pretty sure I saw the set at Bed, Bath and Beyond and I got my candles from Ross $6/each.

The art that is framed are textured/ colored/ pictured  paper from Michael’s. I don’t like a lot of pictures in my house (I know I am a werido) so that’s why I decided to just do the paper.

I enjoyed decorating this wall, I just did whatever and placed whatever frame anywhere. I knew   I didn’t want my frames in order, in a line or in a particular shape. I definitely wanted it scattered so it would take a lot of space of the wall.

I have to “Confess” that I once added pictures in these frames but it took away the conversation between person to person
